Design & Usability

Navigation bar on top of the web site make the pages all very accessible and easy to find for the user

Site Layout is organized and laid out in a familiar pattern with important section on top and left side of page with main content in the center of the site.

Professional and clean look

Width of pages not wider than 800px.  That is the maximum printable width for visitors who may want to print out the information.

Contact information for practice is easily found “above the fold” of website so that visitor can quickly determine location of office and gather contact information, if needed.

Does not include too much Flash, which slows down page loading, and causes visitors to leave the site.

 

Utility:

Interactive features such as a newsletter sign-up or free consultation upon sign-up.  Interactive features allow practice to effectively built a list of prospects and other interested parties.  

Not just an informational web site.  Informational web sites are basically just electronic brochures and do not effectively market to the visitor.

Some type of bonus or free information is offered to visitor.  This could be in the form of a special report or an offer for a free consultation.

Follow-up System is in place to communicate with registered visitors to the web site.

There is a way to capture registered visitors on the site, even if it’s just a simple “Contact Us” form or a “Schedule an Appointment” form.

 

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Site shows up in top 100 results in Google for city and “dentist”, which shows that it has some “credit” with Google

Site shows up in top 3 results in Google for city and “dentist”, which are the listings that get over 70% of clicks.

City name is included in the title bar, which is one of the simplest and easiest steps to take.

Site meta information included (such as keywords and description) that would assist in search engine optimization

Important words on site are not in graphical images, which search engines cannot understand.  They should be in text format.

 

Pay-Per-Click (PPC)

Pay-Per-Click (PPC) program in place for web site.

Links do not send visitor to the home page but more specific landing pages

Based on the website, SEO, and PPC analysis, assumed that there is steady amount of traffic

Based on usability and design analysis, assumed that web site is generating a regular stream of new patients
